Young Enterprise Fair
Saturday 16th March 2019
Budding entrepreneurs from local secondary schools will converge at The Ryemarket Shopping Centre, for this year’s annual Young Enterprise Trade Fair. The aim of the day is to provide an opportunity for the Young Enterprise Companies to test out their business understanding and flex their entrepreneurial skills by setting up a ‘trade stall’ to display and sell their products to the public. 10 teams have been developing their concept over many weeks, most of which has been as the result of extra-curricular activity.
The Young Enterprise Company Programme gives students (15 to 19), each year the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge for the workplace through the experience of running their own company, supported by volunteer advisers from business. With guidance from their mentors, the students establish companies and take up functional roles in order to create and sell products or services.
A panel of judges, made up of local business people will decide on the Best Trade Fair Stand and decide on the Most Innovative Product winner. The judging will be done against a range of key criteria – on the quality of their trade stand, product displays, marketing ability and overall business-style.
Kamran Hussain, Young Enterprise Manager, says “the Trade Fair is a fantastic opportunity for students to show their spirit of enterprise and flair. The programme helps young people learn about business while developing skills such as teamwork and communication which makes them more employable in the future.”
Please come and visit the Trade Fair and see the various products on offer by your future budding entrepreneurs.
