Safe and Found at The Ryemarket.

The Child Safe scheme, which helps re-unite lost children with their parent or guardian, is available at The Ryemarket shopping centre.

The Ryemarket is part of a growing number of shopping centres implementing the Child Safe Zones initiative. Bright window stickers and posters in the centre indicate an emergency number to ring to help parents and children communicate quickly with the centre’s security staff. Anyone who finds a lost child can also ring the number.

Karl Taylor, centre manager at The Ryemarket, says the Child Safe scheme will give parents peace of mind as they shop in the centre throughout the year.

“Anyone who has lost a child knows that dreaded moment when they turn round and their child is out of sight, and it’s just as distressing for the child.”

"Wristbands can be picked up at various locations throughout the centre. Parents or guardians are also asked to fill out an emergency contact number, preferably a mobile, so if they come separated from their child we can re-unite them quickly."
